My goal for all of my students in Reading is to help all students improve their reading and comprehension skills. I value the opportunity to provide each student with individualized instruction to meet their individual needs. Everything in this course is designed to improve student's reading skills, which will help students in all of their classes.
Reading class will begin with a unit called Decoding Skills. We will also be using Language!, another reading program. Both of these reading programs are designed to increase decoding, fluency and comprehension skills. In addition, students are required to have an independent reading book in class everyday. Independent reading will take place everyday in class and reading summaries will be due weekly, but will be completed in class. Attendance and participation are crucial to success in my reading course.
